  1. Hi, Anne,
For some reason I thought of you today and thought I’d try to find you online, and here you are. I am married now, living in Illinois with three little kids (6, 5, and 2.5). I taught for 12.5 years at Charter Oak High School (getting a Master’s Degree in English somewhere in there) and then married at 35 and moved here. Oh–and I managed two trips to the British Isles before I got married and settled into a life where money goes to the kids.

How is your family? Every time I think of the Princess Bride I think of Mike. And every time I read Fox in Socks I remember reading it to the crew in the Arcadia library. Fun times.

    • Carol! (Or I as I knew you, Ms. Graf.) Similar to you thinking of your friend here, I thought of you today and searched for you online. I couldn’t find an email for you, so hopefully you get notified of replies here. You were one of my favorite teachers at Charter Oak (along with Madame Charles of course). I had you for honors English my freshman year over a decade ago (and you read one of my essays to the class as an example), and I think my sister, Crystal, had your class a few years before me. A Midsummer Night’s Dream is still one of my favorites from your class, though I also really enjoyed A Tale of Two Cities. If you ever want to catch up, here’s my work profile, which has my email on it: http://www.utexas.edu/cola/centers/prc/directory/faculty/pt5243
I may be getting a new job for next academic year, so the email on that profile will be good at least until then. Hope to hear from you.
      Best wishes,

    Hi Ann,
I meant to comment on your blog and your fine, funny, and astute comments on BoK, but i think I only succeeded at posting it on my FB profile page. I’m not the swiftest boat on the Mekong. But I did want to say that i liked what you wrote at BoK and look forward to reading more. I’m Steve Hellyard Swartz, Poet Laureate of Schenectady, NY and, following the lead of the Alexander Woolcott of our time, Ryan Seacrest, I am signing out.

  5. I love your blog – I saw links to “Basket of Kisses” postings but somehow didn’t put it together. Now that I have removed 500 people from my FB contacts, I get more quality updates from interesting people like you. 🙂

    • Thanks, Jenn!

The ladies who run the Basket are the best people I know in cyberspace. It’s a terrific place to hang out.

You’re always welcome here too, of course. I appreciate the compliment! 🙂

  6. tell David Reese that I say, boy is he right about that.
